Midwoof Diaries: Miss Molly Progress Report

We have been busy with puppies lately and Miss Molly has been happily growing under our extra care. Something interesting happened at the 3 week mark…Molly began to think she was “just one of the gang” in several ways! Phoebe’s litter is about a week ahead of Molly in age, so they started to hit their developmental milestones on schedule. Molly was a wobbly, goofy little thing, but she started to copy what they did! Around 3-4 weeks of age, puppies start to “mouth play” with each other and wrestle. Our tiny girl would just toddle right up to those bigger puppies and start to try to wrestle! When we put down kibble for them to try, she was right in the thick of things, sampling along with them. We have graduated from grams to ounces now, once she hit 800 grams it was time to move along. Tonight Molly weighed 1 lb 13 oz! This is such a big thing, considering she was 5.1 oz just a few weeks ago and not gaining on her own. We are still extra watchful and make sure we weigh her regularly and keep tabs on her progress. But as of right now, our “unsinkable” Molly Brown is a little bit of a miracle, right here in Tennessee.
